Listening is a practical task, it is simple yet many get it wrong. Many people hear, but don’t listen. To listen is to take note, and asses what has been said. Listening enables you to following instructions. Hearing is not taking attentive note to a speaker and not understanding what is said.
It is very important to listen, to be aware and to learn. Listening promotes good understanding and develops good relationships. Businesses are more successful when they listen and research views of consumers. Listening enables businesses to become knowledgeable. Individuals may also become knowledgeable through listening. Inspectors listen to suspects closely and monitor their behavior, to discover the route she should take. Good listeners are good friends as they listen and fulfill the needs of others. Listening helps you asses others and make informed decisions.
It is important to listen and to take note of the world around you. It is important to understand your environment through listening, so that you may use valuable information for your own benefit and growth.

Appreciation
In life many things happen so fast, with us as humans getting used to situations, becoming comfortable. We lose the sense of appreciating what we really have as we take it for granted to be there. We are all guilty of this as when we are not in a difficult situation, we take things for granted.
Simple things such as running water, it would be easy for me to say it is simple as I live with water, and do appreciate it. Many people do not live with water and electricity and find difficulty in fulfilling many tasks. We are able to complete our daily tasks with ease as we have access to these facilities. We need to appreciate what we do have currently as well as realize what we did not have in the past. This makes all of the difference. We are uncertain of how our future will turn out, while we need to appreciate now, so that we do not have regrets by then. I have heard a great saying that, you don’t know what you’ve got till its gone. The day when it is gone you will miss it, and you will need to adapt your life to a new way of living, while still not forgetting the past.

We make thousands of known decisions daily. The choices we follow determines the direction our lives and others lives will take. Many minor choices have a greater influence on the world around us and needs to be considered to before engaging.
It is interesting make decisions based on instinct without thinking, however the more simple decisions I choose to think about much greater as they determine how short term needs will be accomplished. I see it as strategically planning to ensure that my every move and thought is profitable to my day. I try to maintain a balanced life, while still in my leisure time; I search for easier and efficient means to doing things. Decision making is vitally important as we influence others in the decisions we make. We need to always ensure we make the correct decisions as we need to be an example for others. Decisions also determine your leadership qualities, and encourage initiative. Your initiative states how good a leader you are and how well you are able to asses opportunities.

Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you only have one idea
Many times we have sat and brand stormed ideas to come up with on ingenious plan. We work to think up a plan which is complicated and unnecessary. In these situations we do not realize that one major idea could not be the best solution to our problem and the most practical.
When we discover our ingenious idea, we find ourselves so excited and overwhelmed with joy. We are optimistic and happy that we have a plan of action. This plan sometimes contains elements that are unable and not easy to fulfill. We only seem to discover our faults, which we learn from, in implementing our ideas. In those ideas in which we have little faith, we should asses its problems and encourage a back up idea. When we only have one idea, which we thought was an ingenious idea, we now find being disastrous.
This disastrous idea could lead our whole project to crash and burn. When we only depend on one idea, we find ourselves playing with fire. This idea could fail at any point leaving us with no alternative option. Some activities, we find ourselves doing can not be reversed, or has time constraints attached to it. It is for this reason, that backup plans need to be perused, and ideas need to be thoroughly investigated.
